Thermochromic dyes are substances that change color in response to changes in temperature. They are often used in applications such as thermometers, mood rings, and other novelty items. Thermochromic dyes are typically made by incorporating a temperature-sensitive pigment or dye into a base material such as ink, plastic, or paint.Thermochromic dyes can be either reversible or irreversible. Reversible thermochromic dyes change color when the temperature reaches a certain threshold, but then return to their original color once the temperature returns to normal. Irreversible thermochromic dyes, on the other hand, permanently change color once the temperature threshold has been reached.
